Maines coast has a lot of wildlife, from seagulls to seals, much can be found in and around the coast.
Maine is very well known for many outdoor sports and activities. Fishing, boating, hunting, hiking, exploring, camping, and swimming.
Acadia national park is home to 49,052 acres of land, is this land there are mountains, ponds, seashore, gift-shoppes, and even resurants.
Maines coast is very different from its wilderness, both have lots of beauty to offer and have good scenery.
Acadia Park’s well-known Jordan pond has a well-known mountain formation known as the bubbles. Many souvenir stickers in their gift shops have images of these mountains. Jordan pond is over one hundred and forty feet deep. It serves as a water reservoir for the surrounding people.
Jordan pond is known for its scenic view, its clear clean water, and its fresh landscape. Around two-hundred million, four-hundred thousand people visit Jordan pond each year. And many people are also disappointed to see a sign that won't allow swimming. Those who chose to swim are fined with a five-hundred dollar fine. Some boats however are allowed to float around the pond.
Its scenery is surrounded by lush and beautiful pine trees, it is also surrounded by hills and mountains. It is one of Maines biggest attractions. People may also see fish swimming in the water. Natural water plants grow in and around the water.
Many people bring canoes, kayaks, or inflatable power boats to use in the pond. These are allowed if they are under 5 horse-powers. ( if you want to go for a swim, you might “accidently tip your canoe”.
Another good place to visit is otter cove. Filled with beautiful ocean- worn rocks, this beach has many large boulders that can be climbed. These boulders are good places to jump into the cold, blue, salty ocean water. Here the water is relatively calm, and safe.
This cove is one of the few places where swimming is allowed, and where you won't run a huge rick of being dashed to pieces on rocks by huge, gigantic, enormous, ocean waves. The water here is exceptionally clear, and one can see the bottom very easily. This can sometimes make water that is ten feet deep look like it is only five feet deep.
Otter cove is an excellent swimming place, (rated by an anonymous person five out of five stars), even when the water is cold it adds to the great experience. It is a much better place than thunder hole or Jordan pond if you want to enjoy a good beach to the fullest. Otter cove is differently worth visiting.
